Jan is committed to making meaningful connections with individuals and teams, internally and externally, as a resource development professional. She strives to communicate clearly and succinctly with the right combination of words, images, facts and tone--in person as well as through written, electronic transmission.
Jan has led grant teams through the steps needed to submit successful applications to federal, local, corporate and private funders. She works well with other grant and program managers, accounting professionals and project investigators to provide timely, accurate reports tied to grant compliance, expenditures and deliverables. Successful grants include $1.5 million in funding through a three-year Community Transformation Grant (CTG) administered by the CDC and a three-year $300,000+ grant to fund a Childhood Obesity Prevention Program (COPP) awarded by the Healthcare Georgia Foundation.
Jan has also helped re-launch and build two 501(c)3 organizations tasked with raising funds for at-risk public health programs. She has worked with diverse groups of board members to create marketing and fundraising collateral that produces results. Examples include brochures and newsletters, media releases, feature articles, proposals and correspondence, instructional materials, web copy, annual campaign and capital fundraising material.
Organized and detail-driven, Jan is self-motivated and committed to quality service and social responsibility. Her strengths based on the Clifton Strengthsfinder assessment are empathy, developer, connectedness, intellection, and input.
