Engage in Mentor Match

Welcome! GPA Created the Mentor Match program to support you and your development as a grant professional. Learn more about GPA's commitment to mentoring and its Mentoring Program on the GPA Website.
This unique online networking and career development tool helps you find, connect and share experiences with others. Your mentor or mentee can be in the same city or on the other side of the world. You can join the GPA Mentor Match program in three simple steps:

Complete your GrantZone profile. Make sure your contact information is up to date, add a recent professional profile picture, expand on your bio and import your education and job history information from LinkedIn. Having a complete and accurate profile is crucial to the success of selection and matching. Profile complete? When your profile is complete, return to this page and move on to step 2.

Are you looking to be a mentor or mentee? Perhaps both? Sign up:

  •   Enroll as a Mentor
  •   Enroll as a Mentee

Make selections for each of the program demographics to set your preferences. Demographics include: area of mentoring focus, experience, focus of organization, and communication preferences. Please note that some fields are required for enrollment. The more information you provide, the easier it will be to make the best match. Keep in mind in order to connect with a mentor or mentee, you must be enrolled in the program.

Congratulations, you're all set! You are now ready for the fun stuff... let the mentoring begin!

MENTEES: Use the Mentor Program Directory to input your search criteria. Start by selecting your topic(s) of interest that could include:

  •   Federal or Foundation Grants
  •   GPC Certification
  •   Job Search/Resume

Plus much more!

Do one search or multiple searches. If you're unsure of the search criteria, select "Search for ALL of the selected values." The Mentor Program Directory will do the work for you and populate the results.

To explore search results, click on the member's name to visit their profile page. Look around. If you think you've found a desired match, click the "Mentor Match" badge under their profile image to request a connection.  Or you can simply select the "back" button to return to your previous search results.

***Remember: Mentees must search for Mentors and make the initial connection.***

MENTORS and MENTEES: Once you have matched with your mentor/mentee, use Mentor Match tools to:

  •   Track your mentoring relationships
Participate in discussion forums on mentoring topics
