I connect nonprofits with organizations interested in funding their work and help them clearly communicate the value they provide. I connect funders with nonprofits and programs that can help them achieve their goals in the community.
I build relationships from a foundation of kindness, integrity, and commitment. I create development plans characterized by strategy, collaboration, attention to detail, and persistence.
Over the course of my 16-year career, I have raised roughly $18 million in operating, project, and capital funding for the organizations I've served. I've also successfully managed annual campaigns, written winning direct mail appeals, written and project managed production of annual reports, newsletters, and websites, produced fundraising galas and silent auctions, and hired, managed, and led teams.
In my current role at the YMCA, I work with program staff to raise grant funding from foundations, corporations, and government. I also lead a three-person team responsible for post-award management and outcomes evaluation and manage YMCA projects with a contract grantwriter, outside evaluation firm, and communications consultant.
In 2016 I raised $3.4 million in corporate, foundation, and government commitments raised, $949,000 of that in new or increased grants. These include $525,000 in United Way funding for youth transitional housing and homelessness prevention and a new $544,000 federal award for street outreach to homeless youth.
Seven months into 2017, I have raised over $1.7 million to support the YMCA's work in youth development, career pathways, and homelessness prevention. I recently received a Thrive award, given to YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities team members who exemplify the values of caring, honesty, responsibility and respect.
